We believe our Café and Giftshop is the most charming in the South, and we warmly invite you to visit us whenever we're open. Reservations are not necessary for dining in the café. Our Café menu features a delightful selection of both hot and cold sandwiches, alongside delicious soups and salads. You can also indulge in pots of hot tea or refreshing glasses of our iced teas of the day. Each day, we bake the most delectable scones, served with Devonshire cream. About us

Laura’s Tea Room, nestled at 105 N. Palmer Street in the charming historic downtown of Ridgeway, South Carolina, offers a delightful glimpse into both the past and present. Built circa 1911 by the Thomas family, this building once housed The Thomas Company—a staple mercantile for generations. Fast forward to 2007, and Carol Allen transformed this location into the beloved tea room and gift shop, paying homage to Laura Thomas, the last family member to operate the mercantile. Carol's vision blossomed into a family-run enterprise, where generations worked side by side to create a warm, inviting atmosphere. The legacy continued when Carol's daughter, Kelly, returned from Ireland in 2020 with her husband Craig and their son Seamus. As Kelly followed her passion for animals by returning to her dog grooming business,  Craig and Seamus immersed themselves in the tea room's daily operations. Under their stewardship, the café gained a reputation as a favored lunch spot among locals. After Carol's passing in 2023, Craig took the helm, ensuring the tea room remained a cherished community gathering place. Today, Laura’s Tea Room thrives under Craig’s leadership, continuing to celebrate camaraderie with every pot of tea served, all while honoring Carol’s enduring spirit and the unwavering support of Ridgeway's community. Visitors are warmly invited to experience the unique blend of history and hospitality that defines Laura’s Tea Room.
